Gadoli fake encounter: Girlfriend and her mother seek bail

Divya and Sonia were arrested on July 14 this year by the special investigating team of the Mumbai police for their involvement in the alleged fake encounter of Gadoli at a hotel in Andheri on February 7 this year.
The prosecution claimed that the duo helped the Gurgaon police and the key conspirator and Gadoli’s rival, Manoj Binder, with the location of Gadoli throughout his journey from Gurgaon to Mumbai. Divya was travelling with Gadoli and her mother was in constant touch with her, according to the prosecution.
The police included detailed transcripts of the conversation intercepted by the Gurgaon police in the chargesheet as key evidence against the two.
In the bail plea, filed by Aditya Mithe, they claimed their innocence . The defence has relied on the statement of Ashish Singh, a police constable attached to the Gurgaon crime branch. Singh had allegedly recorded intercepted conversation.
