MUMBAI: In an attempt to bring about more transparency in the university admission process, the University of Mumbai (MU) vice-chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh hinted that the process of admissions under the in-house quota might get reviewed. The announcement was made at an event held in the city on Wednesday, where Deshmukh was invited as a chief guest to interact with the audience.

One of the questions raised by a student was about the manner in which many students with lower scores in HSC examinations find their way into top colleges owing to in-house quota, whereas those with better scores seeking admission under the open category lose out on a seat.

“This query has been raised before as well as we want to ensure full transparency in the admissions process. We will think over how this process can be made more student-friendly,” said Deshmukh.
