Accident victim’s severed head yet to be traced

Mahesh Donde, 23, a resident of Kopri village in Vashi was killed in a train accident early Wednesday morning, but what has made is worse is that his severed head is yet to be traced. It is believed to have fallen into a nearby nullah and washed away.

Mahesh Donde, 23, a resident of Kopri village in Vashi was killed in a train accident early Wednesday morning, but what has made is worse is that his severed head is yet to be traced. It is believed to have fallen into a nearby nullah and washed away.

The incident occurred around 6 am. Donde was employed with a private decorator.

SH Chavan, assistant inspector of Vashi railway police station, said, “Donde was crossing the track near the Mahape area close to Kopar Khairane railway station, when he was hit by a train. The impact was such that his head and a hand were severed from the torso.”

Chavan said, “After an intensive search, the youth’s hand was found in a nearby nullah.”

He said, “The fire brigade personnel and police have formed joint teams to search for the head, but we haven’t found it yet. Our search is on.”
