Indian shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Harsheel Dani advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the China Masters Grand Prix Gold here on Wednesday.

Kashyap, who is playing his first tournament in more than three months following a shoulder injury, defeated Thailand’s Suppanyu Avihingsanon 21-16, 21-17 to progress to the pre-quarterfinals.

However, bigger test awaits the 2012 London Olympian as he will meet Chinese third seed Qiao Bin in the next round.

Joining Kashyap in the next round was Dani, who got the better of China’s Yan Runze 21-16, 22-20 in 36 minutes.

The youngster will face Chinese Sun Feixiang in the next round at the Olympic Sports Centre.

Meanwhile, women shuttlers Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli and Sai Uttejitha Rao Chukka suffered losses.

Krisha lost to Li Yun 18-21, 11-21 in 34 minutes, while Uttejitha was defeated by Li Wenmei 4-21, 21-13, 12-21 in 49 minutes.
