An Australian tourist Michel David was found dead 'in mysterious circumstance' inside a room at a private guest house at Khagaul in the outskirts of Patna.

An Australian tourist Michel David was found dead 'in mysterious circumstance' inside a room at a private guest house at Khagaul in the outskirts of Patna on Sunday.

Michel David Osborne's (57) body was found when police broke open the door of his room after being called in by the guest house manager, deputy superintendent of police Dilnawaz Khan said.

The tourist had checked in to the guest house on Friday after visiting some important places of tourist interest in the state. The police was alerted when the waiter's knocks on his door went unanswered in the afternoon.

"No cut or other injury marks were seen on his body," he said adding a passport, some medical prescriptions and medicines were recovered from the tourist's room.

According to the passport David came from Melbourne.

The formalities to send of the body back to Australia would be completed on getting instructions from senior officials, he added.
