His test reports received on Monday confirmed that the official was afflicted by swine flu, health officials said on Tuesday.

The officer staying at his official bungalow has been kept under observation and is being given Tamiflu, they said, adding prophylactic doses of Tamilflu were also being given to those attending on him.

The Bihar government has already sounded a swine flu alert across the state and urged the Centre to set up a virology lab in Patna to avoid delay in detection of such cases.
