At a time when things seemed settling down in the ruling NDA in Bihar after the much-publicised meeting of BJP national president Amit Shah with chief minister Nitish Kumar, NDA’s minor partner, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) leader and union minister of state for human resource development Upendra Kushwaha created a fresh flutter in the ruling alliance by questioning the logic of continuing with Kumar as NDA’s chief ministerial candidate for 2020 state assembly polls.

Kushwaha in an interview to a Hindi channel said that Kumar should vacate the chair and give somebody else the chance.

“In my personal opinion, he should relinquish the chair on his own. He has been my leader and has been the CM for 15 years. He should leave the post for bigger politics ahead. He has served the state for too long and has had a satisfying stint so far. I am confident, he will give up the post soon,” said Kushwaha.

“In politics, everybody has the right to grow,” he added.
