Photos: Over thousand cases reported, Delhi increases Covid-19 hotspots

Delhi has added 10 new containment areas to arrest coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, which climbed to 1,154 on Sunday. After the first case was reported on March 2, it took 35 days for the city to register its 500th case. Then the tally doubled in the next six days. The national capital reported 85 fresh infections and five deaths on Sunday, as chief minister Arvind Kejriwal extended his Covid clampdown measures. Delhi has now demarcated 43 containment areas. While there is a 21-day lockdown in place across the country, these places are under hard restrictions, with buildings, housing societies and even entire neighbourhoods sequestered under heavy police presence.
