Bollywood's romance with Kashmir

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s love with Kashmir ain’t new. His Ranbir Kapoor-Nargis Fakhri starrer, Rockstar, was also partly shot there, and so was the Alia Bhatt-Randeep Hooda flick, Highway, which released yesterday. It was shot in Gujjar Basti Aru in Pahalgam, among other places.

Kabir Sadanand chose the non-traditional part of Kashmir - Leh, to shoot his next, Fugly. The Akshay Kumar production features Jimmy Shergill and a bunch of newcomers including Mohit Marwah, ace boxer Vijender Singh and Kiara Advani in prime roles. It’s expected to release in May.

Actor Aditya Roy Kapur has reportedly set out with director Abhishek Kapoor to do a recce of Kashmir, where his next film, Fitoor, alongside actor Katrina Kaif will be shot. The film is expected to go on floors in June-July this year.

Kabir Khan shot the Sajid Nadiadwala thriller in Gulmarg. Starring Katrina Kaif and Saif Ali Khan in the lead, it’s based on the 26/11 terror attacks that took place in Mumbai. The film is scheduled to hit theatres by the end of this year.
