Maharashtra floods: NDRF, BMC engage in rescue operations at various places

Over the past week, torrential rainfall in Maharashtra triggered landslides and floods in some areas. India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for five districts.

Two teams of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) arrived at Raigad and Kolhapur to carry rescue operations in the areas. Meanwhile, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed 8 more teams in the flood-affected areas. A total of 34 teams have been deployed for rescue and relief work at various places. (AP)
