Two vehicle thieves arrested in Pune, Hadapsar

The police have recovered eight bikes, three mobiles and gold ornaments that are estimated to be worth Rs 3.55 lakh from their possession

The Hadapsar police have arrested two persons in connection with vehicle thefts. The accused have been identified as Akshay Shamrao Sutar (21), a resident of Ganganagar, Phursungi and Rohit Krushna Vasudeo (21), a resident of Kadepadal in Hadapsar.

The police have recovered eight bikes, three mobiles and gold ornaments that are estimated to be worth Rs 3.55 lakh from their possession.

According to the police, the accused carried out their thefts in Hadapsar, Wanowrie, Wakad, Chatuhshrungi, Swargate and Shikrapur and have 11 cases lodged against them in the said police station areas.

The accused were arrested after receiving a tip-off from police constable Mundhe, following which a team of police officials under the guidance of Sunil Tambe, police inspector from Hadapsar police station made the arrests.

The arrests were made after the anti-vehicle thefts drive was initiated by Tambe under the jurisdiction of Hadapsar police station.
