She said the raid was conducted after receiving complains from villagers, who claimed that several revenue officers used to consume liquor on the office premises. The villagers had also alleged that these officers - Baldev Singh Sehjra, Baldev Singh Bhattal and Ramesh Kumar - demanded bribe from them.

"I have asked the villagers to register their complaints in affidavit and to submit the same to the DC office through proper channel," she said. The villagers have been assured of a departmental action against the guilty revenue officers.

Neelima said that the department had received many verbal complaints, but no written complaint had been received so far.

It is reported that the absentee employees reached their office and told the ADC that they had gone for some official work. But they failed to offer any explanation over empty liquor bottles found in the office.
