Chandigarh airport reopens today, 31 flights set to take off

The airport was closed for 20 days due to the ongoing runway expansion.

Chandigarh International Airport on Wednesday released the revised schedule of various airlines ahead of the airport’s reopening on June 1. The airport was closed for 20 days due to the ongoing runway expansion.

Airport spokesperson Deepesh Joshi said 37 flights are listed in the new schedule, which will be applicable from June 1 till October 27. While 31 flights will immediately start, a chopper to Shimla is scheduled for June 4 while five flights are listed for commencement in July and August.

These include flights to Bengaluru, Delhi, Indore, Srinagar and Kolkata. According to the schedule, the airport will be open on June 1 (Sunday) between 1pm to 6pm. So far, two flights are listed for operations that day.
