Two more arrested in Ajnala murder case

The Amritsar (rural) police claimed to have arrested two more persons in the Ajnala murder case. A youngster named Gurpreet was beaten up badly leading to his death. After this, the family of Gopi complained. The sarpanch is still absconding.

The Amritsar (rural) police claimed to have arrested two more persons in the Ajnala murder case.

Amritsar (rural) SSP PS Virk said, “The two accused have been identified as Pargat Singh and Narinder Singh. Pargat Singh is the one in whose house the victim, Gurpreet Singh Gopi, was beaten up.”

The Amritsar (rural) police had registered a case of abduction and murder under sections 364 and 302 of the IPC against 11 persons, including Akali sarpanch Amarjit Singh, on a complaint by Gopi’s family.

The sarpanch is still absconding.

Gopi’s family had also met IGP (border zone) RP Mittal on Friday and told him that the police were shielding Amarjit.
