
Will seek farmers’ inputs on debt bill, says Punjab CM
Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday said the state government would seek vital inputs from farmers and farm labour bodies before finalising the legislation on ‘debt determination and settlement’ in the forthcoming budget session of the state assembly.

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday said the state government would seek vital inputs from farmers and farm labour bodies before finalising the legislation on ‘debt determination and settlement’ in the forthcoming budget session of the state assembly.
Presiding over a high-level meeting with the representatives of 12 farmers and farm labour unions at Punjab Bhawan, Badal said a high-level committee comprising officials from food and civil supplies, revenue, agriculture and industries have held several rounds of discussions with bankers and money lenders. The panel would now consult farmers, he added.
