n her last interview — soon after the news of her Tamil film debut opposite actor-director Prabhudheva in the movie, Charlie Chaplin 2 broke — actor Adah Sharma told us that her excitement and happiness is way more than nervousness and she was most looking forward to her dance sequences with the legend. Now, three months later, when she has shot for almost 70% of the film, the actor says that she is still as excited as she was at that time.

“We have shot for quite a few scenes and yes, dance numbers too! I can’t wait for people to watch the film on the big screen. It is a comedy, and I have a lot of funny stuff to do, too,” says Adah, ,who has done films such as Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Commando 2 (2017).

Now that she has spent a lot of time with Pradbudheva on the set, she is in awe of him as a co-star, who often gives her suggestions on how to get a shot right. “He’s a lot of fun. He’s an amazing dancer and very good at comedy, too,” says Adah.

She adds, “Also, my character [in the film] is a little crazy. So, he tells me to incorporate little expressions here and there, and when I watch the take [after incorporating his inputs], I’m like ‘Ohhh!’ I realise how one small expression can change the whole scene.”

Asked if he is timid on the set or keeps on the energy alive cracking jokes, Adah adds, “He is quiet and doesn’t unnecessarily feel the need to be constantly speaking. But he has his sense of humour intact when he speaks in real life too.”

While working with a big star of Prabhudheva’s stature, it’s not easy to maintain one’s sanity. On how she ensures that his star value and godly status in the film industry doesn’t affect her concentration on the set, Adah quips, “I’m walking around set with the dialogue sheet and headphones listening to the lines all day. When doing a comedy, one has to concentrate. Otherwise, you miss the timing. So, I hope I’m doing a good job.”
