Tamil drama Visaaranai has been directed by Vetrimaaran and is produced by Dhanush.
“It’s a gutsy film. The images will haunt you for days. It’s undoubtedly the best film I’ve seen at the festival,” said Anand Kumar, a festival attendee. Another viewer was so moved by the film that he bowed to Vetrimaaran.
Produced by Dhanush, the film now awaits its Indian theatrical release. Vetrimaaran, however, is sure it will only be released with cuts. “Even if 70 percent of what we screened today is retained, I’d be really happy. But I highly doubt that,” he said.
