UFC 285 Highlights: Jon Jones surpassed Ciryl Gane to become the new heavyweight champion in the main event. Meanwhile, Mexico's Alexa Grasso lifted the women's flyweight crown by defeating Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event.
American MMA fighter Jon Jones created history by defeating Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 285. With the historic win, Jones lifted the heavyweight title. It was a dream comeback for Jones who entered the octagon after a three-year hiatus. In his debut heavyweight fight, Jones made Gane bite the dust only few minutes into the match, claiming victory by submission.
Meanwhile, Alexa Grasso shocked Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event to win women's flyweight title. Grasso won by submission, just seconds before the conclusion of round 4. After the third round, Shevchenko was in the lead by 29-28,29-28,29-28. But a brilliant choke by Grasso on her, shattered Shevchenko's dreams of retaining the title.
In other matches of the main card, Shavkat Rakhmonov won in the welterweight category by submission over Geoff Neal. Mateusz Gamrot overpowered Jalin Turner in lightweight, securing the win by split decision after the conclusion of three rounds. And Bo Nickal surpassed Jamie Pickett through submission in round one of middleweight category.

"The biggest challenge is going to be to manage this guy [Jones] because he's well-rounded, he has a lot of strengths... He's probably the biggest test I have in my life, for sure," said Gane.
[Bigger than the test against Francis Ngannou?] Yeah... He's a G.O.A.T., he's a legend... I want to beat this guy for this, to prove I can do it, and to prove I'm also the best guy on this planet... I want to surprise, I want to shock the world," he added.
