What is new in Apple iOS 17.1?
Music App Improvement:
Users can now star any song, album, playlist, or artist, saving their selections to the library.
Enhanced AirDrop Functionality:
AirDrop receives an addition with the "Out of Range" option. It allows users to send and receive files even when devices are not in close proximity using Wi-Fi or cellular data.
UK Users Get 'Connected Cards':
UK users can now integrate their debit and credit cards from select banks into the Wallet app.
StandBy Mode Innovations:
Users can now convert their iPhones into smart displays while charging the device in landscape mode, as reported by 9to5Mac. However, this feature is exclusively available for devices with an always-on display, which includes the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Flashlight Indicator on More iPhones:
In iOS 17.1, Dynamic Island now displays an indicator when the flashlight is actively in use on all iPhone models equipped with this feature, reported Macrumors. These models include the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. In earlier iterations of iOS 17, this functionality was exclusively available on the iPhone 15 Pro models.
