Uber on Thursday announced updates to their platform, designed to enhance the airport travel experience. One particularly exciting feature is the ability to book a ride in advance for up to 90 days, providing travelers with greater peace of mind and flexibility when planning their trips.

The ride-sharing company has already established dedicated pick-up and parking areas at major airports across the country. These areas have been specially designated to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for passengers, helping to streamline the process of getting in and out of the airport.

Book trip in advance for up to 90 days

Uber Reserve trips will be available to be booked up to 90 days in advance. This extension will enable better planning when booking a ride, including one to the airport. The advance booking will also give driver partners the added advantage of being able to lock in their potential earnings, and plan their time better. While Uber Reserve rides are available for airport drop-offs, they can also be booked for regular, planned travel and are available through a variety of options such as Uber Premier, Uber XL, Uber Intercity, and Uber Rentals.

Step-by-step wayfinding guide

The Uber app now includes a "step-by-step wayfinding guide" to help riders get from the gate to the Uber pickup zones. The guide includes actual pictures from the airport, guiding passengers to seamlessly make their way to their Uber. The feature of wayfinding guide is being rolled out across 13 of the busiest airports in the country. Additionally, riders at select airports will see the estimated walking time from their gate to the pickup zone. This will help them plan their journey accurately.

Sync travel plans with Uber

The riders can now opt to sync their travel plans with Uber by way of email integration. This allows riders to pre-book their rides while being aided with pre-filled dates and times on their Uber app that correspond to their flight, saving them the hassle of booking a trip at the last minute. The riders will have to sync their email IDs with their Uber app to be able to access it.

Update for Uber drivers

Uber has also released an update for drivers that will assist them in better planning airport trips and provide information on the expected time for their next airport ride. The Uber driver app now displays the estimated wait time at the airport before drivers can expect to be picked up, the number of cars in line, and the number of expected flight arrivals over the next hour.
