China Open tennis: Sania Mirza, enter quarters; Rohan Bopanna moves up too
Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna have won their respective doubles matches in the China Open tennis tournament in Beijing
Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna progressed into the quarterfinal stages of the women’s and men’s doubles events in the ongoing China Open in Beijing.

In a women’s doubles second round clash, Sania Mirza and her partner Peng Shuai defeated the Belgian-Dutch pair of Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs.
The third-seeded pair of Sania Mirza-Peng Shuai clinched the game 7-5, 6-2 against their unseeded opponents but not before surviving some tough moments. Sania and Peng Shuai had received a bye in their first round.
On the other hand, Rohan Bopanna and his partner from Uruguay, Pablo Cuevas, registered a victory over the Chinese pair of Mao-Xin Gong and Ze Zhang by 6-0, 6-4.
