In his plea filed two days after the top court granted bail to former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in the related probed by CBI and the ED, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief challenged his arrest and subsequent remand orders, while also pressing for bail.
The case against Kejriwal stems from allegations of irregularities in Delhi excise policy of 2021-22, which the CBI began probing following a recommendation by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor in July 2022
A bench of justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma said the Congress leader’s plea lacked merit and there appeared to be no sound reason for the court to interfere
