Mom who went beyond the usual to help daughter with hearing loss

Aiman Siddiqui, whose hearing impaired daughter had to undergo cochlear implant and then speech and hearing therapy, realized how difficult this must be for many other families which had children suffering from hearing and speech problems. Aiman enrolled herself for diploma in special education for hearing impairment. She is about to complete her course and is working with a private therapist and giving online training to others who have children with special needs.

Rameshwar, Shivtej’s paternal uncle said it was the grandmother who first noticed it and informed the couple. “Both my brother Nyaneshwar and Supriya have had hearing loss since birth. They could not figure out that Shivtej was not responding to sounds like a mixer grinder.
