Airport impostor: Agent who helped 24-year-old pretend as 67-year-old man arrested

Police said the 24-year-old man and his wife, from Lucknow, wanted to settle in the US and approached an agent, named Jagjeet Singh alias Jaggi, who promised to get them to the US for a fee of ₹60 lakh

'Like 9/11': IGI airport alerted after threat call to 'blow up' Air India flight

The Delhi Police had also received a separate threat call on Friday, which warned that unnamed miscreants were intending to seize the Delhi airport. The cops have launched an investigation into the matter.

Air India Express crew member flew despite testing positive

A senior member of Air India Express’s cabin crew was on duty despite the airlines being aware that she tested positive for Covid-19 around 50 minutes before the employee’s flight, it has been found. The airline, while admitting that the employee had tested positive, said it will investigate the matter further.

Meanwhile, airline sources alleged that officials tried to manipulate the employee’s report data in the scheduling system.(HT)

You can get your luggage picked from home and transported to airport, but at a price

The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Friday announced that a paid facility — wherein baggage will be picked up from a passenger’s place of stay anywhere in Delhi and neighbouring states and be delivered to them directly at the airport for check-in — has been started on Friday, after successful trial.

Customs seize gold worth Rs 1 crore at IGIA

According to the officials, it was on Thursday when the two women, aged 39 and 50 years, arrived at the terminal 3 from Bangkok, Thailand and were intercepted following a tip off soon as they crossed the green channel.

Additional commissioner customs, Amandeep Singh said the two women were arrested and the recovered jewelry was seized under relevant provisions of the Customs Act.(HT image)

According to officials, around 10.55 am ,CISF personnel at the Indira Gandhi International airport spotted a man, later identified as Ubaid Lal, roaming suspiciously in the check-in area of T-3.

An Indian man was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country gold pieces and a pendant, worth ₹22 lakh, by hiding them in a pack of cigarette. Two of the man’s associates, who were waiting outside the airport to receive the gold, were also arrested.
