How attorney general Jeff Sessions’ firing could affect Russia investigation

Jeff Sessions recused himself from overseeing cases arising from the 2016 election, citing his role as an active Trump supporter, so Rod Rosenstein has been serving as acting attorney general for the investigation into whether any Trump associates conspired with Russia’s election interference and whether Trump obstructed the inquiry itself.
