Odisha gears up to set up 4,000 crore Mahanadi Riverine Port project

The Ministry of Port, Shipping, and Waterways has already agreed to the Odisha government’s proposal for the riverine port to be developed by Paradip Port Trust at an investment of 4,000 crore. The project is estimated to generate employment for 6,000 people.

Ganga’s water did not improve during lockdown; less flow may have deteriorated quality

A new report by the Central Pollution Control Board said that seven out of 19 major rivers in India recorded an improvement in water quality in April during the nationwide lockdown period

Full moon day slows flood water release, Odisha villages fight waterlogging

The flood has affected at least 1.4 million people across 20 districts of the state, but the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara and Khurda have been the worst hit.
So far, 22 people in the state have died due to the flood. A total of 3256 villages under 896 gram panchayats in 112 blocks were hit due to the massive flood.(ANI)

Odisha Flood: 17 dead, 1.4 million people affected as situation improves

The flood situation is under control in Odisha as Subarnarekha, Baitarani, Brahmani; Budhabalanga rivers are no longer in spate while the situation in Mahanadi river system will be better by Monday.
The SRC said a total of 45 medical and 42 veterinary, 14 NDRF, 17 ODRAF, 22 Fire Services teams and 254 boats have been deployed in the affected areas to rescue people as 107 roads were cut off and 32 river embankments breached in five districts.(PTI PHOTO.)

Dipka mine gets green clearance for another 30 years
