Bengaluru: 45-year-old BMTC conductor sleeping in bus burnt to death

A 45-year-old bus conductor was killed today in a massive fire that broke out in a bus parked at Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus stand in Lingadheeranahalli, said the police.

Bengaluru transport body to reappoint sacked employees in 2021 strike

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation is in the process of reappointing sacked employees in the 2021 transport strike. The reason for the reinstatements is unknown, however this comes after reports that the corporation is short staffed.

BMTC introduces new Vayuvajra route between Silk Institute Metro and KIA

After South Western Railway, the BMTC has now geared up to improve regional connectivity between Bengaluru city and its airport, with the introduction of a new Vayuvajra route from Kanakapura main road to the KIA.

The new route, KIA-5D, will pass through Konanakunte Cross, Banashankari, Jayanagara 4th Block, Shanthinagara, R M Guttahalli and Hebbala.

500 women drivers to hit Delhi’s streets in e-autos

On September 22 last year, HT reported that the Delhi government has decided to issue 4,261 e-auto permits of which 33% (1,406) will be reserved for women.
