Passenger vehicle wholesale in India rose 14% in October, says SIAM

Passenger vehicle wholesale increased by 14.19% to 310,294 in October from 271,737 units in the same month last year, the auto industry body said.

India’s slowing economy led to record drop in car sales in 2019, demand likely to be flat in 2020

Passenger car sales fell to 1.81 million in 2019 from 2.24 million in 2018. Sales of sport-utility vehicles (SUVs), however, rose 5% helped by the launch of new models, data released by SIAM showed.

India’s passenger vehicle sales plunge 24% in September amid slowdown in auto sector

Domestic car sales were down 33.4 per cent to 1,31,281 units last month as against 1,97,124 units in September 2018, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Friday.

Auto sales see record fall in August in two decades as crisis continues

Passenger vehicle sales plunged 31.57% year-on-year to 196,524 units in August, falling for the 10th straight month, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) data showed, while passenger car sales fell 41.09% to 115,957 units.
This is the worst-ever fall for both the categories since SIAM started recording the data in 1997-98.(REUTERS)

Car sales fall for 9th consecutive month, 31% drop in July

Motorcycle sales last month declined 18.88 per cent to 9,33,996 units for the month as against 11,51,324 units in the year-ago period.

Auto slump continues, May sales see biggest dip in 18 years

Passenger vehicle sales in May were recorded at 239,347 units, compared to 301,238 units in May, 2018. Such a drop was last seen in September 2001 when sales had dropped by 21.91%.

SIAM urges government to follow practical approach on electric vehicles

Maruti to recall 1,279 units of new Swift, Dzire over possible fault in airbag controllers

Maruti Suzuki India in a statement said it will proactively and voluntarily undertake a recall for 1,279 vehicles (566 new Swift and 713 new Dzire) manufactured between May 7 to July 5, 2018.
