The US government announcement comes after China's intimidation to Taiwan by firing missiles into the sea after U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan becoming highest-ranking American official to visit the island in 25 years.

Taiwan to coordinate with India, US, Japan to consolidate peace

India had on Friday expressed concern at recent developments in the Taiwan Strait following US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the self-governed island.

US lawmakers arrive in Taiwan amid China tensions

Beijing, which claims democratically governed Taiwan as its own territory, has been holding military drills around the island to express its anger at this month's visit to Taipei by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
