China lauds India for helping Sri Lanka; ‘Ready to work with Modi govt’

China has now heaped praise on India for its financial assistance to Sri Lanka amid the world economic crisis of the decade in the country. The Chinese Foreign Ministry acknowledged that 'India was doing a lot for the country' and said that Beijing was ready to work with India to help the island nation with its situation. China's response comes after Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said in a Bloomberg interview that he thinks China is no longer interested in helping the South Asian region, which includes Pakistan. China also refuted Rajapaksa's claims and said that the South Asian region was in fact a priority for India. Watch this video for more details.
