Conflicting claims over Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s fate have exploded into an information war. Donald Trump has posted a blistering Truth Social statement declaring “Khamenei… is dead,” boasting he “could not avoid our Intelligence” and calling this the “single greatest chance” for Iranians to take back their country. Earlier, Reuters cited an Israeli official saying Khamenei’s body has been found, while Axios and Israeli channels report diplomats briefing Washington that he was killed in an Israeli strike. Yet Tehran has not officially confirmed his death.
