Assamese hail rangoli bihu

Rangoli Bihu celebrations, one of the main festivals of Assam took off to a colourful start across the state from today. The festival marks the beginning of the Assamese New Year. The festival also known as Bohag Bihu, since it is celebrated in the month of Bohag (April- May) will continue for three days. The first day is Goru Bihu or Bohu dedicated to the cow where the animal is bathed and worshipped by farmers.
