F/A-18 Hornets to be tested for INS Vikrant | Indian navy hunts for fighter jets

The flight trials of Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet carrier based multi-role fighters will begin next week at INS Hansa in Goa. The Indian Navy will test the U.S.-made Super Hornets from May 23 from soon to be commissioned INS Vikrant. The aircraft carrier is expected to come out of a major overhaul and become operational next month. The Indian Navy is expected to buy 26 carrier based multi-role fighter jets for INS Vikrant with eight of these aircraft to be used both for flight training and operations.
