Gilgit-Baltistan erupts against Pakistan; Massive protests against Sharif govt, Chinese projects

Residents of Gilgit Baltistan staged a protest against Pak authorities over the power outages and wheat shortage in the region. They raised slogans against the government, condemning its 'indifference' towards people's plight. Besides the hardships they face on a daily basis, they are also angry with the ongoing work on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Residents have accused Pakistan and China of exploiting their natural resources, leading to irreversible damage to the sensitive ecosystem of the region.
