Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party protested across Tamil Nadu against the citizenship act as senior leaders led workers and supporters in several cities, including Chennai. Stalin was leading once such a massive protest rally attended by thousands in Kancheepuram. The DMK leader accused the Centre of poisoning India's unity. DMK had questioned AIADMK for supporting the Bill in Parliament. Nationwide protests were held on Monday after police crackdown in Jamia. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee led the protest march in Bengal on Monday. The state also witnessed protests against the Citizenship Act. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held protest in Thiruvananthapuram. Protest rallies were held in several parts of Kerala, condemning the crackdown in Jamia.
