about the video

With Lok Sabha elections looming closer, the Prime Minister sought to neutralise the Opposition’s ‘chowkidar chor hai’ attack by accusing them of defaming security guards across the country. Following a ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign on social media, PM Narendra Modi addressed 25 lakh security guards and said that he considers himself one of them. While claiming that ‘chowkidari’ has become synonymous with patriotism, PM Modi said that he is alert 24 hours a day to catch middlemen and scamsters. This comment assumed significance given the arrest of scam accused diamantaire Nirav Modi in London just hours earlier.
