Assembly polls: Stage set for results

Poll officials and police in Punjab are giving finishing touches to their preparations ahead of assembly elections that would be declared on Tuesday. In Amritsar, three major university campuses have been chosen for the counting of votes holding the fate of nine constituencies of state assembly. Meanwhile, Congress party's senior leader Pramod Tiwari trashed the exit polls predicting bleak prospects in Uttar Pradesh. While the media exit polls indicate a disappointing finish for the Congress in Uttar Pradesh, they predict a strong win for the party in neighbouring Uttarakhand.
