BSP leads in early trends in UP

The BSP forged ahead in 65 of the 158 seats for which trends were available during the counting of votes for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. One hour after the counting began at 7 am in 402 constituencies on Thursday, the ruling Samajwadi Party was ahead in 16 seats, followed closely by the BJP in 14. The Congress was ahead in only three seats while others were leading in four.
