Campaigning at its peak in Kashmir & MP

Former chief minister and patron of Kashmir's National Conference party Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said he hoped the next six phases of provincial polls would pass off peacefully. Previous elections have seen militants threatening violence to enforce their call for a boycott, and Indian soldiers trying to coerce people to vote. This time the militants said they would not interfere and the soldiers kept a lower profile.
