Flood situation improves in Orissa

The early arrival of monsoon rains in Orissa caused flood and brought miseries for people. But now the flood situation across many districts of Orissa has improved and water is receding in marooned villages. The situation in the area over the past one week has been very depressing. Relief work was also halted due to continuous rains. According to reports, over one million people have been stranded during the current spell of floods.
