During election time, there is an increase in small businesses such as merchandising of cloth banners, painting of banners, catering business, trading in electioneering items and transport operators. For instance, in Patna, the capital of Bihar, the business of flowers is reaping it rich, catering to the needs of various political parties. The garlands are being used to decorate election vehicles, rostrums at venues of election rallies and of course garlanding the candidates and other assorted leaders.
