Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begin across India

Celebrated across the country, especially in Mumbai, the 10-day-long festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, which marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, began on Wednesday. With the chants of `Ganpati Bappa Morya` lakhs of Mumbaikars installed new Ganesh idols in homes and outdoors and welcomed their favourite deity with fervour and gaiety.
