Gujarat Lokayukta expresses happiness after SC upholds his appointment

Gujarat Lokayukta Justice (retd) R A Mehta on Wednesday lauded the Supreme Court's decision of upholding his appointment by Governor Kamla Beniwal in August 2011, after it was challenged by the state government. In a setback to the Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, the Supreme Court upheld the appointment of Mehta as the state Lokayukta. Meanwhile, the Congress slammed the BJP for opposing Mehta's appointment.
