Heat wave pushes tourists to Sikkim

Domestic tourist inflow in Sikkim is on the rise this year due to the hot and humid weather in plains of India. Tourism is one sector, which has been unanimously identified as one of the most suitable industries of Sikkim, with tremendous potential for growth. The tourists mainly visiting Sikkim come under the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) scheme that the central government provides in order to promote state as a tourism destination.
