India revises infrastructure investments for 11th five-year plan

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said that the requirement for investments in the infrastructure sector would be about $600 billion for the current five year plan (2007-2012). Speaking about the rising prices of vegetables particularly onions, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of India's Planning Commission, blamed the weather for the price rise and said the prices of the onions will come down soon.
