Manmohan Singh campaigned in UP

Prime minister Manmohan Singh campaigned in UP on Friday as the state was poised midway through phased polls. Manmohan Singh addressed election rallies in Lakhimpur-Kheri and Bahraich towns in the Terai region, which goes to poll April 23 in the fourth leg of the staggered assembly elections in the state. Addressing a public meeting, Singh appealed voters to support Congress party for development, which, he said, the state has been lagging for 17 years.
