Maoists, in the Latehar district of Jharkhand on Tuesday put up threat posters warning noted economist, Jean Dreze, who is currently working for a government-initiated rural development programme. In their threat posters, the ultras have called Dreze a 'puppet' in the hands of the chief of central ruling Congress, Sonia Gandhi and slammed his seminal work on the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) that is being implemented across India. Earlier, on March 03, Niyamat Ansari, a close aide of Dreze and an activist working for the MGNREGA scheme, was killed mercilessly by a group of 12 Maoists at Jerua village in Latehar district.
