Modi expresses confidence about BJP win

Senior BJP leader and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed confidence about the party securing a victory in the 2009 elections. To rule, a party or a coalition requires the support of 272 lawmakers forcing the Congress and the BJP to launch a frantic hunt for new allies. Speculations are rife that India could be heading for a minority coalition government, with exit polls from the general election suggesting that the UPA is slightly ahead of the NDA.
