New Delhi should not give arms to Sri Lanka: Communists

India's major Communists on Tuesday said that New Delhi should not supply any arms to Sri Lanka as long as the conflict between Colombo and the Tamil rebels was not resolved. Karat further added that New Delhi should “make more efforts to impress upon the Sri Lankan government” to put in a ceasefire. Sri Lankan government said it had no plans for a truce amid U.N. and E.U. calls for a halt to fighting.
