Revisit paramilitary deployment in Maoist-hit areas: PC

Following the killing of 27 paramilitary soldiers in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh, Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday proposed a rethink on the deployment of security forces in the affected areas. An ambush by Maoists in Jagdalpur region of Chhattisgarh killed 27 soldiers and injured over half dozen on June 29. The attack took place near Narayanpur, considered as a bastion of the Maoists cadres.
